Vinyasa Flow

This playful style of yoga incorporates fast-flowing movements where you will move from pose to pose, with a strong focus on the breath.  You can expect poses to enhance your flexibility, challenging balances, a chance to get upside down, raising your heartbeat and a chance to wring out the entire body. We also offer this in roughly 38 degrees as a heated vinyasa.  The joy of doing this in a heated space is that it brings your awareness to each breath, challenges your current practice and your whole body feels brand new afterwards.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a quiet contemplative practice, you will hold postures passively for longer over props.  Props will include bolsters, blankets, blocks and sandbags.  Each posture will be held for at least 3 minutes allowing you to work deep into the connective tissues and joints.  This practice is a cosy, nurturing one perfect for if you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed.  We also offer this in a heated room, at roughly 38 degrees adding a whole new challenge to your practice.

Beginners Yoga

This class is designed for complete beginners, or for those who enjoy a slow mindful approach.  In this class we spend more time breaking down the postures and move slower with more intention, helping to build strength and improve our flexibility.

You are not expected to show up being able to touch your toes, or do any crazy postures.  We show up as we are, and you will be supported wherever that is.

Rocket Yoga

Rocket yoga is a fast-paced, challenging style of yoga. It has a set sequence meaning it won't differ too much from week to week, giving your body greater chance to get to grips with each pose and see your body get stronger each week. You can expect lots of arm balances, inversions and a dynamic movements perfect for those seeking a vigorous and energetic workout.

Sand and Sound

In this class we will go through the postures slowly, moving and mobilising the body.  We will take some long holds incorporating the sandbags into our practice by placing them on our bodies to sink us deeper into each shape. The sandbags bring a new element, like the safe grounding feeling of weighted blankets, sandbags will offer us this same feeling.

At the end of our practice, just to put the icing on the cake we will take a restorative pose and enjoy the beauty of singing bowls as you drift off into a blissful relaxation.

Flexibility for all

These classes have been carefully curated for those currently struggling with flexibility, and for those of you who want to help improve your body's range of motion.  If you struggle to touch your toes, you are not alone, the one thing that is hugely important with flexibility is being consistent, and if you come along to these classes you will start to see and feel the difference even after just a few weeks. You can expect some mobility drills, longer passive holds and mindfulness.

Stretch and Mobilize

These classes are great for post workouts and on your recovery days.  We stretch out the body and boost your flexibility by not only passively stretching, but actively stretching too.  This is a slow paced class that gives as much emphasis on feeling good as moving good.  We focus on mobility drills and even though some of them are a challenge we laugh our way through them, utilizing our props to help us sink deeper and track our progress.

Forrest Yoga

Forrest yoga has a strong emphasis on building core and shoulder strength.  This style is considered more a style of yoga as exercise and it is known for its long holding of postures and cultivating a deeper connection to yourself.  This practice will take place in a heated space (not a Forrest) and gets its name from its founder Ana T. Forrest.  You can expect the first 15minuets of this class to be core exercises and there are options for some challenging postures throughout.

In these classes you can also expect traditional breathing techniques and a chance to challenge yourself, both physically and mentally.

Myo-Yin

In this Yin & Myo-Yin class, you can expect one of the most incredible practices where we not only stretch the muscles but also massage & work with specific points in the myo-fascia (the connective tissue that encapsulates your muscles!) Yin Yoga is a slower, more gentle, floor-based practice incorporating long-held postures and we use plenty of props to provide support.
This practice invites us to be fully present, listening with the whole body-mind to mobilise tension and discomfort held in the body.
How many times have you found yourself running away from uncomfortable situations in your life?
What happens if we show up and stay within it? This intimate practice of yoga requires an attitude of Maitri (loving-kindness) as it will bring you greater self-awareness. It may shake up suppressed feelings, sensations, and emotions, which can be easy to avoid in a fast-paced yoga practice.

Slow Flow

These classes are a slower, low-impact style of yoga.  It is a soothing style that takes a mindful approach, with emphasis on the breath and time to work on alignment.   In these classes, you can expect a greater explanation of each pose and time to use props whilst still maintaining the rhythm of a flow.
This is a great class to try as a beginner and is an all-over mind and body practice.

Iyengar Inspired

A varied alignment focused practice with a mixture of flowing movement, held postures, inversions (turning upside down) restorative moments and breathwork. And of course an all important relaxation to end.
We will use props and positioning to better align and mobilise the spine, the energy super highway of the body, and bring life to those parts of our body and mind that need energy for renewal and positive change.
Attention is given to assisting each student's personal best practice, yoga is not one size fits all and options are always available.
Feel welcome just as you are!

Hot Mandala Vinyasa

Using the Mayan Calendar (one of the many ancient timekeeping practices) which operates under the principle of going with the flow of the specific energy of the day, we will therefore practice either an Earth, Fire, Air or Water Flow.
During a Mandala Vinyasa class, you will be integrating the spiral patterns of nature whereby you’ll explore circular movements with your body, moving around all four corners of the mat in 360 degrees.
We will flow through different levels of asana (postures), while prioritising the breath to movement and working on a particular target area (element) & correlating chakra in the body.
The practice usually starts and ends with a short Yin activation so you’re able to “prepare” and “close” the areas of the body that you would be working on.
It’s a dynamic flow, which can be challenging but very playful at the same time, modifications are always given to suit everyone's practice. Regular practice or experience with Vinyasa yoga is recommended.
The room will be heated to roughly 38 degrees.

Yoga Sleep/Nidra

Let's rebel against the grain of this fast-paced life and allocate time to actively rest, without distractions, without demands, just pure rest.

You can expect in this class to be lying down in your chosen comfortable shape and to be guided through a meditation and relaxation practice that brings about a state of conscious relaxation.

Yoga Nidra guides us to the space between waking and sleep. This practice is deeply nourishing, revitalizing the central nervous system, reduces stress, and improves sleep.

Feel free to bring any pillows or blankets that would make this experience even more comfortable for you.

Beach Yoga

These classes incorporate mindful breathing and meditation, flowing movements where you move from pose to pose.  We love starting our day with sand between our toes and a smile on our faces, and as much as we find a rhythm to our practice, we start and end with some longer holds to stretch out our muscles and sink our awareness to our beautiful surroundings.  As we stretch out on our sandy mats, feeling the sun across our skin and becoming mesmerised by the sound of the ocean there isn't a better way to become more present and grounded.

These classes are suitable for complete beginners, or for the more advanced Yogi as you have the opportunity to play in some challenging postures for those that would like to.

SUP Yoga

These classes are a summer treat and you will see them pop up on the timetable from April - September.  These classes are so much fun, they are a wonderful balance between giggling through some challenging postures, like standing warriors to Downward dogs, then finding complete tranquillity in a reclined butterfly.

You don't have to have been on a paddle board before to join in with these classes and if you don't own one don't panic as we can hire them from Discovery Surf School.

Please expect to get wet, I encourage us to jump into the sea and embrace the elements.

At the start and end of our classes, we lye on our boards soaking up the sun's rays, listening to the gentle lapping of the water and feel your whole body exhale, balancing out the challenge with relaxation.

One of the benefits of practising yoga on a paddleboard is that it's a sneaky all-over body workout and you will definitely feel your core fire up, but mainly its a bit of fun and an opportunity to not take ourselves too seriously.
