Wishes for the New Year

4th January 2026 | General Wishes for the New Year

I’ve been getting all intentional, digging deep to feel what I might be asking of the new year, and what it might have in store.

This year I want to lean into the Earth.

I want to feel the ground under my feet, the sand between my toes, the dirt, the dust, the mud, the grass. I want to remember that I am part of the natural world and enjoy a physical connection to the earth. I want to value balance as much as movement, steadiness as much as distance.

This year I want to reach towards the Sky.

I want to feel the air on my face, the wind in my hair, cold starry night-air on my nose, rain on the hood of my jacket, thunder vibrating through my belly. I want to remember that I am capable of dreaming big, reaching for the stars. I want to lean into the edge of my comfort zone.

This year I want to become Water.

I want to feel the sea lapping at my feet or my wellies. To feel the tide’s pull, feel the waves under my board and body. I want to remember that I am flexible and fluid. I can adapt and change as the world changes around me without losing a sense of who I am.

This year I want to be Fire.

I want to feel the warmth of a flame from a hearth or a fire pit or a pile of driftwood gathered from the dunes. I want to light candles. I want to give myself over wholeheartedly to joy, feel it rippling through me like firelight. I want to look for where there is warmth and heat and glow and joy and follow it!

What do you want?
