Channelling that fresh autumn drive into action. I’ve been thinking about small ways to turbo charge our bodies and minds, ordinary things that make a big difference to energy levels. I’m going to see if I can try and do these every day this month ~ fancy joining me in this challenge?
Ok we all know this is a biggie, but I never drink enough water. Our bodies are 70% water, we use it to live, breathe, make and do, so let’s stay hydrated! You’ll see I haven’t set myself a task to drink a certain amount, this feels overwhelming. Drink 2.5 litres? Absolutely impossible! Drink a bit more than usual? Sounds doable. Just have a bit more awareness that I might need some water? Sure thing. Achievable goals for the win ~ let’s go!
This is going to look different for everyone. Maybe you need a five min guided meditation before each meal. Perhaps you need to stretch your neck out and take a sec before you start work. Or the trick could be a long stare out of a window, head to warm yin, take a ten minute midday nap, sit with a book for an hour or lie on the sofa at the end of a day. Take your pick, and give yourself permission to stop.
Again ~ an achievable goal! Did I stand on my doorstep with the sun on my face for three minutes with my wiggly baby in my arms? Yes, I did, excellent work. Did I go for a wander with a friend, pop to the shop, sit in the garden, pull some weeds, walk from my car to the house? Excellent. Tick that box! With outside time we all know the longer the better but let’s keep our bar low and just get outside if only for a moment, find that green energy.
Anything goes, dance to a playlist in the kitchen, stretch your muscles, walk through the lanes or on the beach, sweat, pick blackberries, do some weights, get on your yoga mat, sway in your chair, head to a vinyasa class.
Is there anything, anything, that might improve your sleep by five percent? Or even one percent? Could you got to bed fifteen minutes earlier, decide on no screens after a certain time (we all know the blue light gets your brain buzzing!), add a gentle pre-bed meditation, candle, or stretch to your routine, drop some lavender on your pillow…
Let me know how you get on! I’m excited ~ let’s go!
